        Terminology

Kakarot or Kakarotto? Freeza or Frieza? Mister Satan or Hercu-...  Well, okay, there's probably no doubt here. The following article aims to explain why certain names are used in GT Rewritten. However, before we dive into the article, it's important to note that we exclude characters not present in the English alphabet (for example we will use Son Goku instead of Son Gokū) because adding them would be time consuming when writing Chapters and articles, and some fonts might not be compatible with them.

Additionally this article includes a list of the most useful definitions related to the Rewritten project.

It is also worth noting that the Polish version uses completely different terminology. That's because when we were translating the series, we decided to adhere to the popularity of the names used most commonly in the English side of the Fandom with maybe some small exceptions.

Attention! During the preparation for the launch of the series, some names were changed by us midway through. If you encounter a term that, according to this article, falls under the unused names section, please inform us in the comments section on the respective page.

        Adopted Names
        Reason For Admission
Son Gokuh, Gokuh, Son Gokuu, Gokuu, Zero
        Son Goku, Goku
It's somewhat consistent with the Japanese version and it's popular.

        Kakarotto, Cacarrot, Cacarot, Kakarrot

        Kakarot
        Popularity.
        Gill
        Giru
Popularity and it sounds better. After all, it's hard to imagine a robot calling out "Gill-Gill"!
        Mark, Hercule
        Mister Satan, Mr. Satan
Consistency with the Japanese version. "Hercule" is the result of censorship, separating the character from the word "Satan". This is somewhat understandable, as Dragon Ball features scenes where the word "Satan", in reference to the character, is chanted for several minutes, which might have a negative connotation. On the other hand, the name "Mark" comes from sources other than the manga and is not considered canon by GT Rewritten.
Bloomers, Bulma Brief, Blooma, Bulma Briefs
        Bulma
Popularity and consistency with the character's shirt in the first chapter of the manga. Meanwhile, the surname "Brief" or "Briefs" is excluded, as the word is only her father's given name, not a surname.
Bura, Bulla, Bulla Brief, Bulla Briefs
        Bra
The names in Bulma's family are word plays related to undergarments. The word "Bulla" is the result of censorship to get around the word "bra". Meanwhile the words "Brief" and "Briefs" are incorrectly assumed to be the surnames of Dr. Brief, Bra's grandpa, when in reality "Brief" is just his first name.
Majin Boo, Boo, Mister Boo, Mr. Boo, Djinn Buu
Majin Buu, Buu, Mister Buu, Mr. Buu, Good Buu
        Popularity.
        Oob
        Uub
        Consistency with the word "Buu".
        Chichi, Chi Chi
        Chi-Chi
        Popularity.
        Gyu Mao, Ox King
        Ox-King
        Muten Roshi, Kame-Sennin, Master Roshi
        Roshi, Turtle Hermit
We don't use "Master Roshi" because it's a pleonasm - it means "Master Master". On the other hand, we consider "Turtle Hermit" a good translation of "Kame-Sennin".
        Umigame, Sea Turtle
        Turtle
        Popularity.
        Kuririn, Kurilin, Kulilin
        Krillin
Artificial Human Number 18, Artificial Human No. 18, Artificial Human #18, Artificial Human 18, Cyborg Number 18, Cyborg No. 18, Cyborg #18, Cyborg 18, Cyborg Eighteen, Lazuli
        Android 18, No. 18, #18, Eighteen
In the case of "Android 18" it's popularity. Meanwhile "Eighteen", "No. 18" and "#18" are easy to use. The name Lazuli, on the other hand, comes from sources not considered canon by GT Rewritten, so we are ruling it out.
Tenshinhan, Ten Shinhan, Ten, Tien Shinhan
        Tienshinhan, Tien
Popularity. Meanwhile the fact it's spelled together sits well the author.
        Chaozu, Jiaozi
        Chiaotzu
        Popularity.
        Yamucha
        Yamcha
        Pu'ar, Pu'er, Squeaker, Prudence
        Puar
        Ulong, Woolong, Mao-Mao, Chester
        Oolong
Northern Kaio, North King of Worlds, King of Worlds
        King Kai, North Kai
Old God of Kings of Worlds, Elder Kai, Lord of Lords
        Old Kai

Doctor Myu, Dr. Myu, Myu, Doctor Mu, Dr. Mu, Mu
        Doctor Myuu, Dr. Myuu, Myuu
        Popularity.
        Don Kia
        Don Kee
        Redict
        Ledgic
Popularity and sits well with the author. Moreover, the original reference to the word "credit" has lost its meaning because in GT Rewritten, Ledgic is much less associated with Imecka, the Planet of Merchants.
        Lena, Lene, Leing, Laine
        Leena
        Popularity.
        Zunama, Zuunama, Zunnama, Sunama
        Zoonama
        Domat
        Doma
Consistency with the Japanese version and popularity.
        Mutchi, Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy
        Mutchy, Priest Mutchy, Father Mutchy
In case of "Mutchy" it's popularity. Additionally we have to note that, unlike in the original, Mutchy isn't a cardinal in GT Rewritten, but just a normal priest.
        Muuma
        Mouma
        Popularity.
General Rildo, Rildo, General Rilld, Rilld, General Rild, Rild, General Rhildo, Rhildo, General Lock General Rilldo, Rilldo
Maintaining the reference to the word "drill". Additionally leaving the letter "o", in our opinion, retains this name's pleasant sound.
Commander Neji, Neji Commander Nezi, Nezi
Consistency with the Japanese version and popularity.
        Veis Bizu
        Nutt, Nate Natt

        Lunch
        Launch
        Panchi, Pantie, Panchy, Bikini
        Bulma's mother, Bulma's mom
Bulma's mother was never named in the original Dragon Ball series. The name "Panchy" and its derivatives come from the guidebook not recognized by Rewritten, while "Bikini" originates from Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot - a game that is not a part of Rewritten's canon.

        Definition
Fandom, Wikia, Project's WikiThe official encyclopedia covering everything found in GT Rewritten. It operates the same way as most other fan wikis, allowing anyone to edit most of its pages. It mainly targets Polish readers, because it's almost entirely in Polish, however it allows to add articles in other languages.
        Chapter
The word "Chapter" with capital "C" refers to the chapters of Dragon Ball GT Rewritten.
        Act
The "Acts" in Rewritten are segments of a larger Chapter, dividing it into several pages. This allows for better pacing when reading the series. Despite having their own subtitles, they are still narratively connected to the larger Chapter they are a part of. Each Act has navigation links to the previous ones. So, Act I of a given Chapter won't have such navigation, Act II will link to Act I, and Act III will link to the previous two.
        Part
Parts serve almost the same function as Acts. What sets them apart is that all Parts divide the Chapter on the same page. Acts, on the other hand, divide the Chapter into several pages. Additionally, Parts have a message at the end - "END OF PART X", and on the respective page, there will be links to each of them.
        Supplement
An additional Act or Part related to a given Chapter, but to a lesser extent than the ones mentioned above.
        Module
        A piece of a Chapter located between two "* * *".
        Navigation
An element of the official "Rewritten" project site that navigates to: Chapters, Acts, Parts, Supplements, lists, to the top of the page, to the bottom of the page, and to other pages, both within the "Rewritten" project and others. It's usually found at the beginning or end of a page, but in the case of Acts, it may also appear somewhere in the middle.
        Annotation
A pop-up with additional information. It often contains tips and further clarifications on certain information. An example of an Annotation can be found by hovering over ***.
        Highly recommended!
